SWAN Districts star Andrew Krakouer has made a scintillating return to WAFL football in his first three games back but he's just focused on helping the black-and-whites reach their potential in 2010.
Krakouer has returned to Swans this year after a much-publicised near two-year absence after playing the first nine games of 2008 following a successful 102-game AFL career with Richmond where he showed some of that best form he has brought back with him so far this year.
Last Saturday's performance summed up perfectly what he is offering Swans this year as the 27-year-old collected 27 possessions between playing across half-forward and through the middle, kicked three goals and laid 12 strong and tenacious tackles on his helpless Shark rivals.
It was no surprise that Swan Districts thrived on the energy of Krakouer to make it two straight wins by beating East Fremantle by 37 points at Fremantle Oval and he was just happy to see the team continue to bounce back from its slow start to the year.
"In the last couple of weeks we know what we've done well, which is getting our pressure up on the opposition and running and carrying the ball, and then using the ball and our teammates. We didn’t do that in the first round so it's nice that we've been able to the last couple of weeks," Krakouer said.
"The bye wasn’t a bad thing in that instance because we trained well and made sure we came back and got the result last week against South, which we did. It was then very good that we backed that up with another one against East Fremantle who didn’t have a loss yet this year. It was good.
"We played our game plan well where we ran and carried the ball, and pressure the opposition. Then we got the ball in the hands of our runners and kickers and Timmy Geappen was able to finish off that work up forward, so it was all really pleasing."
