The Swan Districts Football Club is proud to announce it will host a Round 22 WAFL Premiership ‘Double-header’ as part of an action packed day that will include two league games being played at Steel Blue Oval.
Swan Districts released today its Round 22 schedule featuring Steel Blue Oval’s first ever WAFL Premiership double-header on Saturday, August 21. The double-header will feature West Perth tackling Claremont at 11:15am, with Swan Districts playing Perth at 2:15pm.
WAFL double-headers are almost non-existent and it was an innovative idea that both Swan Districts and West Perth were quick to embrace.
“This is rare opportunity to for football fans to witness four league teams battle it out in two games on the same day," Swan Districts Chief Executive Officer, Brendan Parker, said today. “I would like to acknowledge the support from West Perth who have relinquished their rights to a home game at Arena Joondalup, to collaborate in bringing an exciting day of football to the community.”
The excitement will extend off the field as well with the double-header featuring a host of family entertainment including a junior parade between league games, face painting, entertainment by FORM and jumping castles.
Swan Districts Colts and Reserves will play at Steel Blue Oval the following Sunday, August 22, with times to be confirmed.
