Swans Districts 2010 Football Lightning Carnival

Winners are grinners in the world of Football and the six teams that participated in the Swans District 2010 Football Lightning Carnival at Steel Blue Oval on Thursday, 1st July all had a reason to smile. The six teams were comprised of more than one hundred boys and girls from Primary Schools in the Swans District, including Bassendean, Gooseberry Hill, Herne Hill, Maida Vale, Swan View and Woodbridge.

All six teams competed strongly with talented players from each side displaying feats of skill and speed that would make even the most seasoned player sit up and take notice. Players continued to reveal their sparkling potential with some superb running goals and snaps from the boundary line. However, the most impressive aspect of the Lightning Carnival was the good sportsmanship on display. All teams were well-mannered and showed respect to the umpires, their coaches, teammates and opponents.

Despite all teams showing a keen winning spirit, the shield in the end could only go to one team. That team was Woodbridge Primary School, which was awarded the shield for Winner of the Swans District 2010 Football Lightning Carnival, with an outstanding performance across all six games.

Swan Districts Football Club wishes to thank all the Primary Schools who participated in the Lightning Carnival. The Club also wishes to thank all the teachers, parents and umpires for making this day possible. Swan Districts Football Club encourages all Primary Schools in the Swans District to participate in the Swans District 2011 Football Lightning Carnival. We look forward to seeing you next year.
