SWAN DISTRICTS ANNOUCE NEW LEADERSHIP GROUP

Swan Districts Football Club (SDFC) has boosted its leadership group for the 2010 season with the addition of Brett Robinson, Tim Geappen, Tallan Ames and Ben Colreavy.

The four will join Wayde Twomey and Matthew Spencer, alongside newly announced Captain, Josh Roberts.

All seven players were brought into the leadership group with an eye to the future as they are young enough to be involved with the Club as leaders for a number of seasons beyond 2010. Senior Coach, Brian Dawson said, “They have the experience and necessary leadership qualities to strengthen the Club… There is an expectation, on our part, that they can continue to evolve in their respective leadership roles and put their own stamp on the group going into the future.”

The new group is expected to push the team and the club toward greater success in 2010 after losing out to Subiaco in last year’s preliminary final.

Football Manager, Matthew Peach said, “The installment of these seven players as leaders within the football club is certainly reflective of a more hardnosed approach we will have to our premiership campaign in 2010.

“Their combined experience will provide the club with an example of how we want to be perceived both on and off field. Whilst we expect that our entire playing group take on a leadership role over the course of the year, these seven players will certainly drive our direction as a playing group and as a football club over the coming seasons.”

Dawson said, “The leadership group bounce off each other well, on and off the ground, and we look forward to what they will bring to the playing group this season.”

It is time to think outside of the square.

Ever wondered how to best spend your advertising money? With so many options, and not a great deal of information on results, spending money on Marketing can be a very stressful thing.

It is time to think outside of the square.

I wanted to raise awareness of a competition that runs every year with very little exposure. The Swan Districts Football Club, with a massive fan base, TV exposure and a venue with functions for client entertainment, holds an annual competition: "Win your logo on the back of our jumper". Prime advertising for any growing business. Why, you get AFL recruits from the Swans that become a media centre point for the sports news, and your logo is on the back watching snippets of the talent. This logo position is valued at $30,000, the total prize pool is valued at over $70,000 and YOU can win it? Crazy, yet every year this prize get draw out of a pool of 50 businesses - CRAZY.

Better yet, pass this information on to a business you know that wants this type of exposure...

WAFL style to suit Roach Perfectly

NEW Swan Districts recruit Tom Roach finally made the big call to move to Western Australia in 2010 and he has no doubt the game style of the WAFL will suit him perfectly.

Roach, the son of former Richmond champion goalkicker Michael, comes to Swans after himself playing 11 games with the Tigers between 2004-06 and since has become a two-time VFL premiership player with North Ballarat.

He wanted to finish his university studies before leaving Melbourne despite offers each year from clubs in the WAFL, and now that he has his human movement degree he made the move and is glad to be at Swan Districts.
